My wife and I decided we wanted to get married in Ravello, Italy after doing much research into what would be the best place to organise our wedding.
This because I am from the Netherlands and she is from Britain. But we didn’t find the perfect place for us in either country and so we eventually found Ravello was what we had been looking for.
We started planning our wedding with the help of Victoria from Sophisticated Weddings, a wedding planner in Italy (it would have been impossible without one), shortly aftershe put us in touch with Carmela, who was going to run the ceremony for us. It was lovely to get to know her and it was a nice feeling knowing that she wanted to get to know us as well to try and make our wedding day even more perfect.
It turned out however that she did much more for us than just run the ceremony. Before we actually went to Italy she was in touch with us quite often and made sure every worry we had about our wedding day itself, but also the days leading up to the wedding, was taken care of. This made us feel a lot more relaxed about the whole adventure. She even gave some much needed advice on my wedding vows, because I was absolutely clueless if what I had written was actually appropriate to say at a wedding ceremony.
When we got to Italy she took the time to meet us a few days before the wedding and basically walk us through what the day was going to look like, which took a lot of worries away, and made meeting the town hall official to actually prove that we were who we said we were much easier.
On our big day itself she was at the ceremony location early to make sure all the guests knew where to go and what to expect, and she made the ceremony run absolutely perfect…with enough room for laughter and some tears (of happiness) in between the official bits.
All in all Carmela made both the planning of our wedding ceremony and our time in Ravello even more perfect than it already was and we couldn’t have hoped for anything better.
